How To Set Up A Charity?

Individuals, families, corporations, and businesses may establish a Donor Advised Fund by completing the Donor Advised Application and making an irrevocable gift of $10,000 or more to your named fund at National Family Legacy (NFL). Once the fund is established, the donor may make additional contributions at any time. An operating agreement or bylaws will be required to set up the account. All subsequent amended versions should be submitted within 30 days of any changes.

Each fund of NFL has a unique name. Typically, the fund is named for the donor or the donor’s family, or to memorialize someone special (e.g. “Smith Family Fund”). Or, the donor may choose anonymity by selecting a name to his or her personal liking or in keeping with the fund’s purpose (e.g. “Giving to Others Fund”). NFL reserves the right to reject a proposed fund name for any reason.
